Actor tag

I’ve seen some movies lately that I’ve realized can all be stringed together by the actors in them. I’m going to call it “actor tag”. It’s kind of like a “Six degrees of Kevin Bacon” game. It all started when I saw “Water For Elephants”. Of course, the book was better, but I did enjoy the movie. What I really enjoyed was Christoph Walz as August. He was brilliant and I had to look him up at IMDB. This led me to “Inglorious Bastards” in which he won an Oscar for his role. I liked the movie, but once again Walz was incredible and definitely deserved the Oscar. He’s a German actor, but I hope he’ll continue to appear in more American movies because I’ll see anything he’s in. I didn’t mean for this actor tag streak to continue, but the next movie I saw, “X-Men First Class”, also stars Michael Fassbender who appeared in “Inglorious Bastards”. I didn’t care for the last couple of X-Men movies that came out, but this one is outstanding. I loved getting everyone’s backstory and the actors were great too. (And Kevin Bacon is in it. Ha!). As I was once again on IMDB, trying to figure out where I had seen James McAvoy (first Narina movie) before, I noticed Jennifer Lawrence was in X-Men. I did not realize that was her. So I’m taking it as a sign that I need to see The Hunger Games. I wonder how long I can keep this actor tag game going?

Recent Movies

I've been watching a lot of movies this week since work has been slow. I have to say, it's been really refreshing. I used to watch movies all the time and I've realized it's something that's been lacking in my life.
I love movies! Also, I've been just watching movies (no multitasking!). I haven't been surfing the Internet, flipping through magazines, talking on the phone, nothing. Just watching. I find myself so distracted sometimes, mainly with the Internet (Facebook, Stumble Upon, news sites, e-mail, work e-mail, local sites... ugh). When is the last time you just relaxed with a bowl of buttery popcorn and took in a movie?

Anyways, here's what I've watched this week:

Also, I found out the Sales position fell through because they can't bring anyone new on quite yet. There might be opportunities elsewhere though and numerous people know I'm looking for a permanent position in the company. Next week I'll be tagging along with a videotographer and editor for some training, which is ultimately where I'd want to be in the future (and my boss knows it!). In the meantime, happy movie watching!

Fun stuff

I found two fun things today. Not that I need anything to preoccupy me from what I really should be doing.

Fred isn't home today so I actually got to watch something other than college football on Saturday. I was looking through the guide and came across Spaceballs-the animated series. I flipped immediately to G4 which airs it. It is awesome! I recorded another episode but haven't watched it. Mel Brooks does the voices for President Skroob and Yogurt. I'm not sure if he's writing for the series as well, but it was funny.

One of my favorite websites is: http://www.us.imdb.com I check it almost daily for my guilty pleasure- celebrity gossip. Today I discovered they have video of some tv shows and movies, new and classics. The new The Office is on there if you missed it on Thursday, Laurie. There were also old episodes of Bewitched and Alfred Hitchcock. I tried an episode of Bewitched and it loaded up with no wait time. Awesome!
