Blogger geek

I got to thinking the other day that I would like to start another blog, so I did. It's called Boys Don't Color. You can check it out if you want, but it's just about being a mom. Basically all the stuff that I think you may find too boring to read on this blog. And don't take any offense to this, but you just might not get some of it or be able to relate to it at least so that's my reasoning for starting another blog. I'm sure I'll post funny stories on that blog, but it's going to be a lot of my observations about being a mom and also probably some complaining too. So check it out if you want. P.S. Thanks for getting me addicted to blogging Laurie.

More birthday pics

I thought this was so cute. Fred Rion and Daisie were waiting to get on the Ferris Wheel and they were holding hands. It seems funny that Matt and I used to hang out together and now our kids are.

Torii's birthday

We had Torii's birthday party on Saturday. We reserved a shelter at Sertoma. I wanted to do something outside because Torii loves to be outside. It turned out to be a really nice day. By chance there was also a big event at the park. A church group had rented out the amusement park and zoo so everything was free after 4pm. We did a few things at the amusement park, but then headed home. It was getting really busy and they boys were ready for naps anyway. Torii didn't make it long in the car and he was out.
Fred Rion was drinking some milk and showed me his milk mustache. Then Torii came over to show me his frosting mustache. I told him it was more like a beard. He did get his orange cake that he wanted so bad. And we also put orange sprinkles on top too.
On one of the days that mom and dad were on vacation we went out to their house to feed Maggie. It was a really nice day and we ended up playing near the cabin. The boys had fun climbing on this tree.

Our Anniversary :-)

I can't beleive it! Our 1st anniversary is already here! We spent our weekend in Chicago. We left friday afternoon and went to the play "Wicked," at chicago's ford theater. The play was everything we excpected it to be and more. The music, lighting, dance, and everything else was so wonderful! I want to go again. It's worth it. I think if someone here's the Wizard of Oz,they think of Judy Garland or Dorthy; and it was pretty neat that we were at the Ford Theater watching Wicked and this is the same theater that Judy Garland used to perform at.
We also went to Milleneum Park the next day and walked around there and everywhere else. The weather was sooo wonderful! Perfect day. We did a little treasure hunt map that brian found for the Park, and it directs you to all the art and sculptures around it and tells you about each piece. It was neat to see it all. We found a Park Grill that was outside and we decided to stop there and have a nice burger while we enjoy the view of the city. To top the day off in Chicago, we went to The Cheesecake Factory and had a slice of cheesecake. Yummmm. And then drove back home.
Today, we went to The Olbrich Gardens in Madison and they were so nice. The weather was once again beautiful. The gardens has everything from a tropical rain forest to a garden area from Thailand. Later this evening we may go to a movie also. We already went to The Olive Garden to have lunch.
Well, that's a short version of our trip for our special day. Thank you to all who made our wedding day so special and memorable. Love, Kelly and Brian

Happy Anniversary

Sorry, this was the only picture I had on my computer of the two of you together. Hope you have a really good and special 1st anniversary!

Weekend

It's been cloudy and rainy here the past few days. We haven't done too much, but I do really like the cooler weather.

On Saturday our neighborhood had a block party. Everybody brought really good food. People that used to live on the street were also invited. A lot of the people that live on the block now had their grandkids there so there were a lot of kids around. The boys had a lot of fun. Fred Rion made me look real good. He took a break from playing and had a snack. Over everything else there he grabbed some brocolli and ate it. Then he went for seconds. Nobody could believe it. Torii had everyone laughing because they asked him about his Jeff Gordon jacket and he went on and on about it. About 9:00 Fred Rion said he was tired and ready to go home. Which was good because there was drinking going on and some people were getting a little annoying. But it was a good time. We got to know some of the neighbors a little better.

Last week we went to a Meddy Bear concert at Sleepy Hollow. Fred Rion had no interest in the concert and we soon ended up way in the back where other kids were playing. This was basically the section for parents who had boys. We sat on a little hill and the kids were rolling down it. Then Fred Rion went off with some kids and wandered too far for me so I had to get after him. They had a good time and it was cool that night so it wasn't so bad.

Yesterday we went to mom and dad's because the boys wanted to see them. Sounded like they had a really good time on vacation. We gave dad his birthday gift (don't forget to call him today!)

Haven't been up to much else. Just taking it easy.

vacation pics

I had a fun past couple of days. On monday the parents and I went to Lansing for some antiquing and to visit the capital. Michigan has a very beautiful and unique capital building. The first picture is of the dome. Second picture is of the glass floor, and the third picture is of mom and dad. It's kind of dark, but it was hard to snap a good picture. Antiquing was fun. Both mom and dad found some things, and I found a few items for myself :) Tuesday we went antiquing along the lake shore cities. It was fun. At the end of the day we stuffed ourselves with Red Robin burgers. They were delicious.
I can't wait to come home again to see everyone! Miss you all!!
love, laurie

Crazy kids

I'm Batman!

They are running out of places to climb.

Chokecherry pickers

A couple of weekends ago we went to mom and dad's and picked chokecherries. Their trees were loaded. Fred Rion quit early and left to play. Torii was funny, because he would put one chokecherry in his bucket and then empty it into the big pail.
I got some prints made of the pictures from Kelly's cd she sent. I did it on Walmart.com and picked them up later. It worked pretty slick. I had to do a couple more pages in Torii's scrapbook and my vacation pictures weren't as good as Kelly's.
We didn't do too much this weekend. Yesterday was so nice. It almost felt like fall. The kids had fun feeding Maggie this weekend. They played with their airplanes Grandpa bought every time we went out there. I got some major cleaning done this weekend. I think I might be going through my nesting period now. (That's when you're pregnant and you start to clean like crazy because of the new baby on the way). I had to force myself to sit down and take a break because I just wanted to keep cleaning. I took this afternoon off and I'm going to continue on the kids' room. I have to make some room for the crib. I also got some cucumbers from one of the neighbors so if I feel like it today I might try to make some refrigerator pickles.

Wanna Polka?

Here are some pics of us at The Essen Haus having a great time. Dad and I danced some polka and I tried the waltz. On Saturday morning we went to Baraboo which is about 40 minutes north of Madison and we did some Antique shopping and just spent a relaxing day walking around. It was nice to get out of town also. For lunch we went to Paul Bunyan's cook shanty and had a nice all you can eat BBQ ribs. On the way back to madison, I showed mom and dad the garden. Later that evening, we went to the Essen Haus and had some nice munchies and some beers. Sunday morning, we all slept in and had a nice brunch at the hotel which included some items like, prime rib, shrimp, salmon, fruit, desserts, sausage's, bacon, french toast and casserols. So, I think it's safe to say that mom and dad will be set for a few hours on the road to michigan. :-) Brian is also on his way home today. He should be here around 5pm. I think we are going out to eat tonight. Haaaah, more restaurant foods. My stomach is going to burst. Ha ha. I think we are going to Macaroni Grill tonight. And I have tommorow off from work, so I don't know what the plan is. Well, that's basically all right now. I am sure I will be getting more photos soon. Take care all! Love, Kelly

Long week

Last week was just a long week. I had car problems. It wouldn't start on two days while I was at work. I think we got that problem fixed now. On Monday I was also suppose to get a PowerPoint together, but our computers were down. So while I was trying to figure out how to my vehicle starting again, I was trying to fix the computers. It turned out a construction crew cut a wire, which would have been nice if the help desk could have made that call right away. Instead I was stressed out for most of the day. So on Tuesday I only had the morning to work on the PowerPoint, which I actually got done. It didn't look great, but it was done. Wednesday my vehicle quit at work again. Thursday and Friday were busy at work as usual, but by then it already seemed like it should be the weekend.

I didn't do too much this weekend. The mornings were nice and cool so I did get outside with the boys. Last night they stayed overnight at Grandpa and Grandma's. So then I got my Wal-mart shopping out of the way and watched The Prestige last night. It was ok, I figured out the ending before it happened. Now I'm at work again. I don't know what they are going to do in the coming weeks. I'm sure they are counting on me to be at the entrance on Monday mornings, but I just don't think I can do it. I can't be on my feet that long without feeling really uncomfortable. They sent me into town this morning which I didn't want to do because it was a long list of errands. I was going to work as long as I could, but now I'm thinking I should just work to the end of Sept at the very lastest. That would at least give me some time to relax, clean house, and spend some time with the boys before all hell breaks loose. Actually, I think I just talked myself into it.

I guess I did a little venting today, but I guess I needed to. I've felt a little stressed.

Oh yah, the kids like Scooby Doo now. They keep making new movies for Cartoon Network. Anyway, they had a marathon on Saturday, but it was the old Scooby Doo. We watched a couple of episodes. I had forgotten about the laugh track. I wish they would put those on DVD, they were great.

The kids have been really funny lately, but here's one of the funnier things from recently. The kids were getting out of the bathtub and Torii kept screaming and it was really high pitched. Finally I said, "Torii you need to stop screaming or I will spank that bare butt of yours." I turned around and then I could hear Fred Rion whispering to him, "Scream Torii, scream."
